PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Institute of Spiritual Healing and Aromatherapy offers a path for students wishing to pursue a certification in clinical aromatherapy (CCA program). This is a 240 hour course of study that includes three courses, reading, homework, a research project, six teleseminars and written tests.
Requirements for Obtaining Certification in Clinical Aromatherapy
1. Attendance at the following courses: CCA 301, 302 and 303.
2. Satisfactory completion of homework assignments: Written answers to questions and case studies, and a short research project and paper.
3. Attendance at six teleseminars and completion of homework questions.
4. Satisfactory written test (There is a written open-textbook exam at the beginning of CCA 303 and a final exam, no open book, after CCA 303).
HOW BENEFICIAL IS A CERTIFICATION IN CLINICAL AROMATHERAPY
The ISHA certification in clinical aromatherapy is an exciting educational program for all those interested in the healing properties of essential oils and how to use them for self and others. Parish nurses, hospice and hospital nurses, prayer teams, chaplains, ministers, massage therapists/body workers, and the lay community interested in essential oils can benefit from this educational course of study. This educational credential will allow the certified aromatherapist to sit for the ARC exam to become a Registered Aromatherapist (RA).
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Certificates of attendance are granted to all those in attendance through the Institute of Spiritual Healing and Aromatherapy, Inc. (ISHA) which is approved as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the Colorado Nurses' Association, which is accredited as an approver of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. The program is also approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number 13181.
ISHA is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider.
ISHA is approved as a provider of certification in aromatherapy by the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA) and by the Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA).
Continuing educational contact hours are based on a 60 minute hour. Breaks and meal times are excluded from this calculation.
